For a plumbing product to receive Watermark approval and Vipac certification it has to undergo a stringent testing criteria including:

Water flow rates much higher than the actual rate it would ever be subjected to;
Backpressure. Grate Seal is the only product of its kind to prevent flooding, foaming suds and back-wash;
Temperature and moisture extremes over an extended period, proving that Grate Seal will not crack, split or break down over time;
Prolonged exposure to a variety of elements such as organic materials (tea leaves, vegetables, rice and pasta), detergents containing sodium hydroxide, turpentine, hair, soap portions and grit;
Even a burning cigarette placed into the Grate Seal and allowed to self extinguish, did not deteriorate the operation and performance of the Seal.
